GKN Driveline is the world No.1 in the design and manufacture of constant velocity jointed (CVJ) sideshafts – a key component which transmits rotational power (torque) to a vehicle’s wheels.

A CVJ sideshaft consists of two joints connected by a shaft which enables a vehicle's wheels to have full steering movement while accommodating suspension movement and providing constant torque transmission from the engine, yet minimising noise, vibration and harshness ("NVH").

GKN Driveline is also the leading independent supplier of high performance propeller shafts for use in passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Europe. Propeller shafts are positioned longitudinally in the care and transmit power from a vehicle's engine to an axle and are used in rear wheel drive, four-wheel drive and all wheel drive ("AWD") vehicles.

GKN Driveline also has, and continues to develop, extensive product capability within the driveline, focused on improved vehicle traction and stability. GKN Driveline supplies advanced torque management systems (TMDs) and geared components to many vehicle producers around the world.

GKN Driveline has manufacturing facilities in virtually all significant car manufacturing countries worldwide and operates research centres in Germany, the US and Japan.
